Recorded before his death in 1925, this is John McKinley Carswell's grandfather, a minister in the free Presbyterian Church who at 29, married Sarah Elizabeth Jobson, a 17-year old Newcastle-upon-Tyne girl from his church and raised a son and daughter in England and Scotland in Rothesay, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Aldernay in the Channel Islands, Edinburgh and Bournemouth.
